The word Deja Vu is a French phrase that translates literally as “already seen’. It is the feeling that you have already lived through a certain situation, when you know you never had. I myself have experience Deja vu many times. It is the most bizarre, yet interesting feeling. To know you have never been somewhere, or done something before, but somewhere in the back of your head is telling you, you have. It is a very foggy, vague memory, that makes no sense. After the moment passes, I always joke that this happen in my ‘other life’ that is what Deja vu is. But of course science says differently.
Experts say this phenomenon probably relates to our memory in some way. And that we are more likely to experience deja vu when we are stressed, tired, or even busy. After reading that, I think maybe we should all be having deja vu a few times a week. Because in the 21st century we are more stress, tired and busy than ever.
One interesting fact I learned about Deja Vu is that it can be related to Focal Seizures. Focal seizures can last up to 1-2 minutes long, or as little as a few seconds. You do not lose consciousness, you just zone out (like when we are staring off into space).
After doing a little bit of research about Deja Vu, I realized my theory about ‘another life’, seems pretty far off the mark. It seems that if we only have Deja Vu ones in awhile then there is noting to worry about. But if we have them more than ones a month, than maybe something else is going on.
